She was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church, Funkstown American Legion Unit 211 Auxiliary, Knights of Columbus Auxiliary and the VFW Post 1936 Auxiliary. Betty was an avid bingo player and enjoyed playing tip jars, supporting the Baltimore Orioles and eating fried chicken. She crocheted and knitted hats, mittens and scarves for all her family members and friends, and gave countless sets to the needy. She strived to make a difference in the world.
She is survived by five daughters, Carol Ann Keppler and husband Wayne of South Bend, Ind., Sharon Ann Leilani McKinney of Stafford, Va., Tammie Marie Voytko and husband Robert of Hagerstown, Naomi Marie Doucette and friend Gary Bilman of Hagerstown, and Patricia Louise Rossi and husband Mark of Pasadena, Md.; four sons, Larry Marshall Doucette and wife Christina of Hagerstown, Michael George Arsenault of Fargo, N.D., John Charles Arsenault and wife Julie of Waynesboro, Pa., and James Denys Arsenault and wife Lori of Simpsonville, S.C.; one sister, Ethel Osihi of Downey, Calif.; 14 grandchildren, Kelly Wisler and husband Glen, Kevin Keppler, Keith Keppler, Kyle Doucette, Allison Doucette, Dawn Banas and husband Brent, BJ Mills Jr., Olivia Rossi, Amanda Rossi, Shannon Arsenault, Leilani Blose and husband Matthew, John Arsenault Jr., Rachel Arsenault, and Nathaniel Arsenault; seven great-grandchildren, Val Wisler, Jesse Wisler, Bella Wisler, Mika Wisler, Briana Banas, Nicholas Banas and Marley Mills.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Ken Imada, and husbands, Lawrence G. Doucette and Charles J. Arsenault.
Services will be held Saturday, Sept. 19, 2009, at 11:30 a.m., at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 19.
Interment will be private.
