Upcoming pavement projects announced

Washington County provided the following information about its Pavement Maintenance program for fiscal 2010, which is continuing into the fall.

Contractors are completing asphalt overlay on Gaywood Drive at the intersection with Meadowood in the Halfway area, as well as on Artizan Street, Kenilworth Avenue, Grove Avenue and Britner Avenue roadways in the Williamsport area.

Over the next three to four weeks, asphalt patch and overlay work will begin in the Jefferson Boulevard area, including Deborah Drive, Trengail Road, Patrick Road and Clearview Road; in the Hagerstown Community College area, including Mallard Drive and Youngstoun Drive; in the Leitersburg area, including Leiter Street and Ringgold Street; and on the access road and parking lot at Black Rock Golf Course.

Chip sealing has begun on McFarland Road, Sandy Mile Road and Creek Road in the western section of the county, and was scheduled to be completed in the Crystal Falls Drive area.

Over the next several weeks, chip seal applications will begin in the south county area, including Gapland Road, Frog Eye Road, Garretts Mill Lane, Valley Road, Gristmill Road, John Brown Lane, Deer Path and Keedysville Road.

The final section of roadways to receive chip seal treatment will include Natural Well Road, Neck Road, Dellinger Road, Avis Mill Road and Dorsey Road.

Motorists are urged to use caution in these areas.
