No injuries reported in Greencastle barn fire

GREENCASTLE, Pa. -- Firefighters spent almost three hours at a barn fire Sunday morning in Antrim Township, Pa.

The fire broke out in a 3565 Barr Road horse stable, but the horses were in fields at the time, according to Greencastle Rescue Hose Co. Assistant Chief Dave Hann.

"We believe it was electrical," he said, commenting on the fire's cause.

No injuries were reported in the 9:54 a.m. incident off Hollowell Church Road.

Assisting Greencastle were fire and ambulance crews from Waynesboro, Marion, Longmeadow, Maugansville, Leitersburg and Mont Alto. The Franklin County Air Unit was also on the scene.

Pa. man, woman charged in domestic incident

GREENCASTLE, Pa. -- A Waynesboro, Pa., man was charged with simple assault after he allegedly assaulted his live-in girlfriend Sunday afternoon on Ridge Road in Antrim Township, said Pennsylvania State Police.


Charged in the 1:32 p.m. incident was Jesse Robert Bumbaugh, 27, according to a press release.

Another woman arrived and was charged with disorderly conduct after being told several times to stop "disorderly actions," the press release said.

That person was identified as Kathy Lyne Bumbaugh, 49, of Chambersburg, Pa., the release said.

Chambersburg man suffers minor injuries in car accident

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. -- A Chambersburg man fell asleep at the wheel of a 1998 Mitsubishi Mirage he was driving on Duffield Road Sunday and the car went off the road and struck a utility pole, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Justin P. Reasner, 27, suffered a minor injury and was taken to Chambersburg Hospital after the 7:29 a.m. wreck, a press release said.

The accident occurred 394 feet west of Medina Ridge Road, police said.

Beef stolen from Wells Tannery home

McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. -- Someone stole $350 worth of beef from a freezer in a home in the 200 block of West Tannery Road in Wells Tannery, Pa., last month, Pennsylvania State Police said in a news release.

The quarter-side of meat was taken between noon Aug. 15 and 2 p.m. Aug. 16, police said.
