Morris Frock Legion Auxiliary awards scholarships

Morris Frock Auxiliary Unit 42 of the American Legion recently awarded scholarships to four youths pursuing degrees in the education and medical fields. 

The scholarships were presented at the annual installation event held at Post 42 on Northern Avenue in Hagerstown.

The scholarship winners are:

o Bethany Garnand, who graduated from Smithsburg High School and is attending Lycoming College this fall.

o Michael Palladino, who is attending Hagerstown Community College this fall. He is a graduate of Williamsport High School.

o Megan Schultz, who is enrolled at Alderson-Broaddus College. Megan has been awarded unit scholarships in previous years.

o Rebecca Slate, who is continuing her studies this year at Frostburg State University.

Morris Frock Unit 42 welcomes support in its effort to raise funds to award its annual scholarships. Those wishing to buy chances, which cost $1 each, on the annual education money raffle can send a check to American Legion Auxiliary Unit 42, attention: Betty Getz, P.O. Box 1992, Hagerstown MD 21741-1992. The drawing will be Tuesday, Dec. 1.
