Pa. man killed in motorcycle accident

FORT LOUDON, Pa. -- A 41-year-old Mercersburg, Pa., man died Monday from injuries in a motorcycle accident on Pa. 75 in Metal Township, Pa.

Todd Michael Sites was pronounced dead at Fulton County (Pa.) Medical Center after being flown there by helicopter, Franklin County Coroner Jeffrey R. Conner said.

Although the death occurred in Fulton County, jurisdiction was released to Conner. An autopsy will be performed at 8 a.m. Tuesday in Allentown, Pa., to determine the cause of death.

The accident occurred where Pa. 75 (Path Valley Road) meets Bricker Road north of Fort Loudon. The intersection is south of where Pa. 75 intersects with Richmond Road.

A 1995 Dodge Dakota, driven by an Everett, Pa., man, pulled out from Bricker Road into the path of Sites' southbound 2006 Suzuki motorcycle, state police said in a news release.

The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet when the vehicles collided shortly after 2:30 p.m., Conner and police said.

The motorcycle hit the pickup truck on the left door, Conner said.

Police, who did not release the pickup truck driver's name, said they were continuing to investigate.

Sites was pronounced dead at 3:27 p.m. by an emergency room doctor.
