Katie O'Neil named employee for the quarter

Katie O'Neil has been named Washington County Health Department's employee for the quarter for the third quarter of 2009.

O'Neil has been employed by the Health Department since 2003 with the Department's Addictions and Mental Health Division. She began with adolescent outpatient substance-abuse counseling before transferring to the mental health unit. Currently, she works with adults and adolescents.

Dr. Jeffrey Small joins Fulton County Medical Center

McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - The Fulton County Medical Center announces the addition of general surgeon Jeffrey M. Small, osteopathic physician of Central Pennsylvania Surgical Associates.

Small will be see patients at FCMC Specialty Physician Services in Penn's Village Shopping Center every Monday beginning today.

He is a graduate of West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, Lewisburg, W.Va., where he received his medical degree in 2004.


He received his Bachelor of Science in microbiology and genetics from North Carolina State University, Raleigh, N.C., in 2000.

Home Health Care celebrates 25 years with open house

Home Health Care of Washington County Hospital recently celebrated its 25th anniversary by hosting an open house at its Howell Road location.

Several dignitaries were present for the event, including Washington County Commissioner John Barr; Sondra Funk, representative for State Sen. Don Munson; Robin Summerfield, field representative for U.S. Sen. Benjamin Cardin, D-Md.; Julianna Albowicz, special assistant to U.S. Sen. Barbara Mikulski, D-Md.; and Bruce Zimmerman, Hagerstown city administrator.
