Tom Sterrett Hutchinson, 85

Tom Sterrett Hutchinson, 85, of Hagerstown, Md., died Saturday, Sept. 12, 2009, at Washington County Hospital.

Born Nov. 2, 1923, in Charleston, W.Va., he is the son of the late Harvey and Hilda Loy Hutchinson.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1946 in the 30th Infantry Division, Company D.

He spent most of his working life in electrical distribution sales and retired from Raub Supply in York, Pa.

He was a member of Morris Frock American Legion Post 42, VFW in Fort Ashby, W.Va., and was a life member of Elks Lodge 378 in Hagerstown.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Agnes Heater Hutchinson; a brother-in-law, Charles M. Heater of Freeland, Md.; nieces, Kitty Kiser of Elk View, W.Va., and Missy Hutchinson of Charleston, W.Va.; nephews, James W. Hutchinson of Hunker, Pa., and Chuck Heater of York, Pa.; and great-nephews, Jeff Hutchinson, Andy Hutchinson and Mike Hutchinson, all of Pennsylvania.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Jack Hutchinson and Horace Hutchinson; sister, Kitty Whitaker; and nephew, John L. Hutchinson.

Services and burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements are by Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd, Hagerstown.
