Battle anniversaries



The 147th anniversaries of the Battle of Antietam and the Battle of South Mountain are being observed this weekend. Both battlefields will hold special tours, musical performances and living history demonstrations. Today, Sunday and Thursday, Sept. 17. Boonesborough Days



The 38th annual Boonesborough Days features about 150 craft vendors and tours of the recently renovated Boonsboro trolley station. A dedication ceremony for the Boonsboro Trolley Station Museum will be today at 6 p.m. Today and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Shafer Memorial Park, off Main Street, Boonsboro. Free admission. Free parking is available at the Boonsboro school complex off Campus Avenue near the intersection of Maple Avenue and Main Street. A trolley will take people to and from the park for free. Pickin' in the Panhandle



Pickin' in the Panhandle, the West Virginia State BBQ & Bluegrass Festival, features a barbecue contest and various bluegrass acts. Autumn Arts Festival



The festival spans City Park, with exhibitions at the Jonathan Hager House and Museum, Washington County Museum of Fine Arts, Mansion House Art Gallery and the Hagerstown Railroad Museum.
