September 09, 2009

HAGERSTOWN -- A vehicle was shot at least twice Wednesday shortly after 6 p.m. on West Church Street in Hagerstown, apparently by a pellet gun, Hagerstown Police Sgt. D.L. Long said.

Witnesses said a group of 10 to 12 juveniles was standing near Market Lot Liquors shooting pellet guns, Long said.

Shots hit a Cadillac DeVille in the front fender and shattered the driver's side front window, Long said.

The driver, who was traveling east, was not shot but suffered a scratch on his chin from broken glass, Long said. He was taken to Washington County Hospital for evaluation of chest pains, Long said.
