SMITHSBURG - Amedio (Midday) Forcino, 97, of 21302 Twin Springs Drive, Smithsburg, Md., died on Monday, Sept. 7, 2009, at Fahrney-Keedy Nursing Home in Boonsboro, Md.

Born July 9, 1912, in Cedar Hollow, Pa., he was the son of the late Giosia and Elivia Forcino.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Forcino.

He served in the Navy in the Pacific, during WWII.

He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church.

He retired from Lone Star Cement Company after 44 years.

He was a member of Boonsboro American Legion, Post 10; and was active in American Little League and Washington County Junior Football League.


He is survived by a son, Donald Forcino and wife, Mary Ann of Smithsburg; a grandson, Nicholas Forcino and a great-granddaughter, Shawntelle Forcino.

He was preceded in death by a sister; four brothers, and a grandson, Joseph Forcino.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Christ Lutheran Church, 216 N. Cleveland Ave., Hagerstown, Md. Rev. Robert McIntyre will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Thursday evening from 7 to 9 p.m.
