Letterkenny to host memorial for Sept. 11 victims

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. -- The annual Service of Remembrance for those who died on Sept. 11, 2001, will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 13, at the Letterkenny Chapel at Letterkenny Army Depot.

The speaker will be Warren Kozak, a New York City journalist who wrote the recently published "LEMAY: The Life and Wars of General Curtis LeMay."

Winner of the prestigious Benton Fellowship at the University of Chicago in 1993, Kozak was an on-air reporter for National Public Radio. His work has appeared on PBS and in the Washington Post, the New York Sun and the Wall Street Journal.

Organist for the service will be Joan Sachs.

Charles F. Nitterhouse VFW Post 1599 will present the colors and lead military honors in front of the chapel as the service concludes.

An offering will be taken to support the continuing work of the Letterkenny Chapel in the community. The service is sponsored by the United Churches of the Chambersburg Area.

The public is invited to attend.
