Late summer musings ...

August 31, 2009

o If children are our community's most precious resource, why do we pay the Washington County Commissioners an annual salary of $30,000 and Washington County Board of Education members an annual salary of $5,500?

o If you've ever driven through Williamsport, you know the town has more stoplights than it needs. Why not move one to Eastern Boulevard in Hagerstown to address the traffic problems near the YMCA?

o If our president is such a supporter of public schools, why does he put his own children in private schools? (You can ask the same question of Washington County public school administrators and teachers who place their children in private schools.)

o Does any rational thinker believe it is possible to have meaningful health care reform without meaningful tort reform?

o Is there anything any tastier any place on earth than corn grown in Washington County?
