Josephine Carter Creek, 82

Josephine Creek of Martinsburg, W.Va., and formerly of Hagerstown, Md., died at her daughter Gennie's home on Aug. 29, 2009.

She was born Dec. 3, 1926, in Hagerstown.

She was the daughter of the late Anna and Harry S. Carter Sr.

Her husband of 56 years, Edward G. Creek; a daughter, Brenda K. Creek-Turner; five brothers; and five sisters preceded her in death.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Virginia Avenue Church of God.

She is survived by three sisters, Tempe Teach, Elta Sowers and Jean Newcomer; her daughters, Gennie Lee Creek Rudisill and her husband, Mark, of Martinsburg, and Barbara Jean Creek Aldridge and her husband, Ronnie, of Conway, S.C.; a son, David Michael Creek of Falling Waters, W.Va.; four grandchildren, Susanne Aldridge Cookus, Rhonda Aldridge Smith, and two who shared in her day-to day-care, Tyler and Kimber Rudisill.


She also has five great-grandchildren, one of which was very near and dear to her heart, Jocelyn Skaggs.

The family will receive family and friends at Osborne Funeral Home in Williamsport, Md., Tuesday, Sept. 1, from 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held at Osborne Funeral Home on Wednesday, Sept. 2, at 11 a.m. Pastor Shawn Bushman will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Cemetery immediately following service.
