Travelogue series to continue

August 29, 2009

The Kiwanis Club of Hagerstown begins its 35th season of the Travelogue Adventure Series this fall, presented at the South Hagerstown High School auditorium.

The series includes six programs - "Yellowstone: Trails and Tales," "Barbados: Island in the Sun," "The Best of Bavaria," "Grand Canyon," "Iran, Then and Now" and "Wales: Land of Song."

With each program (September, October, November, February, March and April), a cinematographer-presenter takes the audience on a memorable trip, narrating highlights of a film created during his or her visit to the area.

The professional, family entertainment allows viewers to experience customs and cultures from around the world without leaving home.

The Travelogue Series is a community-service project of the Kiwanis Club. The series is intended to bring quality, low-priced entertainment to the Tri-State area. On average, 250 to 300 people attend each performance. Audiences include multi-generational families who want to experience the adventure of far away places.

The season ticket price for six performances is $30, or $10 for a single program. Proceeds from the series help the Kiwanis Club of Hagerstown raise funds to support the activities of charities in Washington County. For information and/or tickets, call 301-739-1981.
