First Friday Greencastle will host monthly event

First Friday Greencastle will hold its monthly First Friday event Sept. 4 from 5 to 8 p.m. in downtown Greencastle.

Thirteen downtown businesses will participate in the event. Each business will have an artist inside or outside their store demonstrating their artwork.

Participating businesses and the artists at each store include:

o Anna's Paperworks (Sally Phillips-Boice, handmade books)

o Antrim House (Joy Geiman, Blue Ridge Mountain Lace Makers Guild)

o E.L.M. Department Store (Heather Nowell, crystal jewelry)

o E.L.M. Shoes (Lori Facchina, Polaroid photo transfers)

o The Farmer's Wife (Dave Miller, Mountainview Pottery)

o Jewelry Shop (Pat Beard, hand-wovens and weaving demonstration)

o Kamie's (Lee Scott, book signing, "Museum of the Mind")


o Marnie & Mo's Antiques and Gifts (Eliane Ambrose, exhibit and painting demonstration)

o Photo Gem (Kittiandalunchbox, vintage items with a funky flair)

o State Farm (Nate Nardi, photography display)

o Sweet Myrtle (Tracy Sutton, hand-painted glass and slate items)

o Willowtree Gifts and Flower Boutique (Ed Beard, shaker boxes)
