Book club meeting canceled for August

The August SIS Book Club meeting has been canceled.

The Book Club will resume in October and the discussion will be on the book titled "Killer Chameleon" by Chassie West.

If you are interested in attending the Baltimore Book Festival Sept. 25 to 27, contact Ladetra Robinson. She will represent Hagerstown and participate on a book panel.

And don't forget, she is compiling a book list for the next six months so get your list of book titles to her. She can be reached at 240-520-5676.


Worship begins

Pastor Raymond Young and the congregation of West Side Church enjoyed their first worship services at Memorial Recreation Center, 109 W. North Ave. Aug. 23 and want to invite the public to join them Sundays at 10:30 a.m.

The dress is casual. All are welcome

The church's motto is "Serving God, Ministering to Man."

Worship schedule

Beginning Sunday, Sept. 6, Haven Lutheran Church, at 1035 Haven Road in Hagerstown, will resume its traditional service and communion at 9:30 a.m. with fellowship and coffee after the service.

Sunday school for preschoolers to adults is available. A rally day will be held Sunday, Sept. 13, and classes will start Sunday, Sept. 20, at 11 a.m.
