I'm one of those people that never had Health Insurance, at least not in my adult life. I just simple can afford the cost. I only go to the doctor's office if I can't doctor myself up. I be willing to pay for insurance if the cost wasn't so high. But the last thing on my mine is my health. Only because I have to keep a roof over my head, bills to pay and not enough money coming in. All I worry about is my children having what they need. Their cover though my ex-husband insurance. But I think this plan is more towards someone that either can't afford it but make to much to get a medical card.

breezie, could you tell me where you're getting your info that it's the "insurance companies" profits that are one of the main two causes for expensive health care? Do you know one of the BIGGEST reasons for high insurance? Lawsuits. Many people in our country have a "get rich quick" mindset and if they perceive the tiniest hint of malpractice (or not) they'll sue for millions. It's estimated that 20% of your health care costs go to litigation. You could probably chalk another 20% up to the ridiculous cost of medications which are too often designed to treat symptoms, not to heal the problem(which makes you dependent on their pill). Don't believe the line Obama is feeding America that it's the "evil insurance companies" who are the problem. For more information on that I recommend: http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2009/jul/23/barack-obama/health-insurance-company-turned-profit-not-rec/ The only thing Obama has to gain by taking over health care and not fixing tort or pharm. is POWER...
