The timeline for the Health Care Act is significantly shorter than the timeline for the original G.I. Bill (PL 78-346).Both the House and Senate versions were introduced in January 1944 and the President signed the law on June 22, 1944.If you don't know what the G.I. Bill accomplished, you don't know much about history.

A recent survey asked Senators and other politicians if they would be willing to use the same Health Care Plan as the American people are being asked to accept. Approximately 20 said that they would and the rest said no. What else do we need to know ? When our representatives are made to use the same system as the rest of us they will read the Bill and fix it in a hurry.

I would appreciate the Media to keep to the facts, rather than allow the lies about the health care bill be posted and spread. http://www.opencongress.org/bill/111-h3200/text Read the bill for yourself- don't let biased media tell you what to think

STINGRAY- the reason they answered as they did is they have health insurance they aer happy with, this Health Care Reform is designed for those who do not have health insurance. Ask them if they would be happy to get this plan and they would answer yes since they currently have none.

Go to the yahoo finance page and look at the health care companies - the insiders in these companies of which there are multitudes all make $500 + per hour in this corrupt private cartel system. They are essentially corporate warlords who have no incentive to provide reasonable service at reasonable coast. The current health care system - crony capitalism and cartels has proven itself to be a failure and a massive waste of the US GDP. The fear mongers against reform just want to help these corporate fat cats or are one themselves. Not of them earn $500 per hour, they are nothing but glorified bean counters. This current system rewards excess and does not provide value. Given a private water system or sewer system versus a government run entity ii will choose the government run system any day. They are better run with better value for the service provided in general. Of course that may vary, but increased competition is completely necessary in health care, the corporate warlords have proven that.

WELL SAID "AnotherDay"...HERES A LIL SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE TO CHEW ON. 1) ALL MEN ARE CREATED EQUAL AND ENDOWED BY GOD W/ UNALIENABLE RIGHTS. 2)GOVERNMENTS ARE INTSTITUTED TO SECURE THESE RIGHTS. 3) THE ONLY JUST AUTHORITY OF ANY GOVERNMENT IS THE CONSENT OF THE GOVERNED 4)WHEN ANY FORM OF GOVERNMENT BECOMES DESTRUCTIVE OF THESE ENDS (PROTECTING RIGHTS & GOVERNING ONLY BY CONSENT),PEOPLE HAVE A RIGHT TO ALTER OR ABOLISH IT.

Stingray, can you provide a reference on that survey, other than "A recent survey..."? Where do you get the notion that folks are being forced out of their current plans, into another. Those of us already with healthcare insurance will keep our current plans. The bill simply mandates that everybody get health insurance, and if you can't get it or afford it, help will be provided. That's a specious question since nobody with current health coverage has to give it up.

outlawbiker.... what is your point? Elections have consequences? Consent of the governed? Obama got that in November. Just because you are in the minority, is the election therefore unfair?

Wildcat - I never cease to be amazed by the things you have to say. Have you actually read the entire 1000+ page bill? I'm not allowing the government "realtime" access to my financials. (yes I know I have to file taxes every year, but I know that goes to the I.R.S., not some low level gov't employee that will have access to it), I am also not giving the gov't free access to my bank acct. Yes both of those are in the bill. I read it. Guess what, I also don't have ins. I'm taking a gamble with not being sick, but if I have to go to the E.R. for anything, it will be on me to pay for it. Not the rest of the community. I am not asking for hand outs, nor do I want hand outs.

as for Outlawbikers point? Read the Declaration of Independence, do your history before you ask a ridiculous question like that.
