HAGERSTOWN - Gladys May Carbaugh, 71, of 17743 Virginia Ave., Hagerstown, Md., died Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2009, at Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown, Md.

Born Dec. 2, 1937, in Fort Loudoun, Pa., to the late Chester Arthur and Mary Magdelene Kaetzel Armstrong.

She was employed by Grove Manufacturing Co. of Shady Grove, Pa., until retiring in 2000.

She was of the Protestant faith.

She was a member of AARP.

Survivors include daughters, Patricia Kottcamp, Rebecca Bailey and Michile Hunter, all of York, Pa.; sons, Brian Carbaugh of Hagerstown, Md., and Jeff Carbaugh and Ronald Carbaugh, both of York, Pa.; sister, Pearl E. Sanders of McConnellsburg, Pa.; brothers, Henry C. Armstrong, Donald J. Armstrong and Fred C. Armstrong, all of Hagerstown, Md., and Roy N. Armstrong of Hancock, Md.; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by one sister, Patricia Armstrong,, and six brothers, Chester A. Armstrong Jr., Robert Armstrong, Melvin Armstrong, Paul Armstrong, Daniel Armstrong and Leroy Armstrong.


Graveside services will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Williamsport, Md., on Friday, Aug. 28, 2009, at 1 p.m.
