FREDERICK, Md. -- A Mount Airy, Md., man was killed late Wednesday in a two-vehicle accident on Md. 26 at Clemsonville Road, Maryland State Police said in a news release.
David Campbell Jr., 29, was thrown from his vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Around 9 p.m., Campbell was traveling north in a 1994 Honda on Clemsonville Road at the intersection with Md. 26 when a 2009 Ford Fusion traveling east on Md. 26 approached Clemsonville Road, police said.
The Honda attempted to make a left turn into the path of the Ford, which collided with the Honda on the driver's side, police said.
Md. 26 in the area of Clemsonville Road was closed for approximately 3 1/2 hours. The investigation was continuing.
