North-South class of '57 to celebrate birthday

The combined classes from North and South Hagersown highs from 1957 will celebrate class members turning 70 this year.

On Friday, Sept. 18, a party will be hosted at the home of Don and Jone Bowman. On Saturday, Sept. 19, the festivities will be held at the Red Men Lodge in Williamsport.

Church plans concert

On Sunday, Sept. 13, Mount Zion Church, at 14336 Greencastle Pike in Cearfoss, will hold a bluegrass concert by Richard and Mary Fox and Higher Ground.

The concert will begin at 2 p.m. Refreshments will be served. A goodwill offering will be collected during a short intermission. The church will also have a basket available for those who wish to contribute to the cemetery maintenance fund.


Shorb Family to hold concert

The Shorb Family of Hanover, Pa., will present a sacred music concert Friday, Oct. 16, at 7 p.m. at St. Mark's Lutheran Church at 601 Washington Ave. in Hagerstown.

An offering will be received for the benefit of Antietam Bible College's general fund.

Pooch Plunge

On Wednesday, Sept. 9, Potterfield Pool, off Frederick Street in Hagerstown, will host the sixth annual Pooch Plunge from 6 to 9 p.m.

Admission for one dog and handler costs $5 and $2 for each additional human or pet. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Humane Society of Washington County.
