HANCOCK - Imogene Margaret Hinckle, 88, of Heavenly Acres Ridge, and a resident of Berkeley Springs (W.Va.) Nursing and Rehab, died Monday, Aug. 24, 2009, at the facility.

Born May 4, 1921, in Hancock, Md., she was the daughter of the late Ira and Bertha Hess Douglas and the widow of Claytus Hinckle, who died in 1988.

She retired from the garment industry as a seamstress.

She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hancock.

She is survived by three daughters, Dixie Mason and husband, Sterling, of Berkeley Springs, Marlene Murray and husband, John, of Hancock, and Iris Hinckle of Hagerstown, Md.; two sons, Ron Hinckle and wife, Doris, of Hancock, and Terry Hinckle and friend, Nan, of Hagerstown; one brother, Marshall Douglas and wife, Gladys, of Falling Waters, W.Va.; 14 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.


She also was preceded in death by two sisters, Mozell Stowbridge and Elma Harminson; and one brother, Gerald Douglas.

Services will be Friday, Aug. 28, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Resley Road, Hancock. The Rev. Kenneth Stottlemyer will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, Hancock.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Panhandle, 122 Waverly Court, Martinsburg, WV 25403.
