Jack Milford Tritsch, 87, of Hagerstown, Md., died Monday, Aug. 24, 2009, at Williamsport Retirement Village.

Born Nov. 21, 1921, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Russell Franklin Tritsch and Mary Eclista Garrot Peters.

He was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church.

He retired from Fairchild Aircraft after 44 years.

He was a member of Sons of the American Legion Funkstown Post 211, BPOE Lodge 378, Moose Lodge 2435, Legion of the Moose 218, Fraternal Order of the Eagles 694, Williamsport Red Men Conococheague Tribe 84, South Mountain Rod and Gun Club and Washington County Sports Hall of Fame.

He is survived by his wife, Lois Jane Williams Tritsch; two daughters, Ann L. (Cindy) Moats of Martinsburg, W.Va., and Karen L. Sandidge of Grayson, Ga.; four sons, R. Michael Tritsch of Newnan, Ga., Les M. Tritsch of Williamsport, Md., Kenneth M. Tritsch of Sturgis, S.D., and Thomas M. Tritsch of Hagerstown; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his stepfather, James Peters; and one sister, Eileen Shockey.

Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Darrell Layman will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. There will be an Elks memorial service Thursday at 7 p.m.
