Sheriff's Department responds to calls

August 24, 2009

The Washington County Sheriff's Department responded to the following incidents, according to a news release from Lt. Mark Knight:

Sunday

o At 09:03 a.m., breaking and entering was reported in the 1200 block of Rosehill Avenue. A computer, tools and a TV were stolen.

o At 11:10 a.m., malicious destruction of property was reported in the 11100 block of Glenside Avenue. A front lawn was damaged overnight.

o At 6:54 p.m., theft was reported in the 1200 block of Lawton Lane. A bike was stolen.

o At 7:51 p.m., auto theft was reported on Stonecroft Drive. A John Deere Gator was stolen from Woodbridge Property management. It was found and returned.

o At 9:19 p.m., a domestic situation was reported in the 14400 block of Hollow Road.

o At 9:32 p.m., a domestic situation was reported on Washington Court in Smithsburg.

Saturday

o At 1:30 a.m., a domestic situation was reported on Fulton Street in Hancock.

o At 4:55 a.m., theft was reported at Western Maryland Sportsman's Club on Dam Four Road. A golf cart was stolen and crashed.

o At 9:45 a.m., theft from a vehicle was reported at Massey Lincoln Mercury on Massey Boulevard. Wheels and tires were stolen off of a 2000 Honda Civic.

o At 11:10 a.m., breaking and entering was reported in the 23600 block of Leathers Road. Change and a digital camera were stolen from a residence.

o At 12:32 p.m., a domestic situation was reported in the 16600 block of Tammany Lane.

o At 12:52 p.m., a domestic situation was reported in the 19900 block of Thornegrove Court.

o At 1:18 p.m., shoplifting was reported at Martin's Food on North Pointe Drive.

o At 3:51 p.m., breaking and entering was reported in the 14300 block of Edgemont Road. About $16,000 worth of items were taken from a house.

o At 3:55 p.m., theft was reported in the 11000 block of Sani Lane. Jewelry and a mink coat were stolen from a residence.

o At 4:57 p.m., theft from a vehicle was reported in the 25400 block of Military Road. Four tires were stolen off an unregistered vehicle.

o At 8:37 p.m., malicious destruction of property was reported in the 20300 block of Youngstoun Court. A vehicle was keyed.

o At 11:13 p.m., a domestic situation was reported in the 2000 block of Starlight Lane.

o At 11:49 p.m., a domestic situation was reported in the 13700 block of Pennsylvania Avenue.

Friday

o At 2:42 a.m., a domestic situation was reported in the 10800 block of Vetra Lane.

o At 5:49 a.m., breaking and entering was reported in the 11000 block of Suffolk Drive. A purse was stolen from a residence.

o At 10:28 a.m., theft from a vehicle was reported in the 12400 block of Saint Paul Road. Power tools were stolen from a work truck.

o At 12:48 p.m., malicious destruction of property was reported in the 14600 block of Pen Mar High Rock Road. Locks and chains were cut and stolen.

o At 12:52 p.m., breaking and entering was reported in the 17700 block of Bakersville Road. Cash was stolen from a residence.

o At 6:17 p.m., theft from a vehicle was reported in the 11000 block of Parkwood Drive. A Dell laptop was stolen from a vehicle.

o At 7:25 p.m., a drug violation was reported in the underpass behind Kmart.

o At 10:28 p.m., theft was reported at the Hancock Truck Stop. An employee's bike was stolen.
