WILLIAMSPORT --Â Charles Thomas Higgins Jr., 76, of Williamsport, Md., went to be with his Lord on Friday, Aug. 21, 2009, at Washington County Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Born Sept. 9, 1932, in Pinesburg, Md., he was the son of the late Maude L. Henson Higgins and Charles Thomas Higgins Sr.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Mary Ellen Divelbiss Higgins, in 1995.
He retired from Hagerstown Kitchen Co.
He was a member of the Western Maryland Jousting Club and was inducted into the National Jousting Hall of Fame.
He is survived by two daughters, Sue Ellen Morgan of Spring Mills, W.Va., and Lori Lorraine Kriner of Flintstone, Md.; four sons, Gary Franklin Higgins, Charles Thomas Higgins III and Timothy Wayne Higgins, all of Clear Spring, Md., and Richard William Higgins of Big Pool; two sisters, Marjoil Texter of Chambersburg, Pa., and Maudeline Axton of Bakersfield, Calif.; one brother, Lester Eldon Higgins of Hagerstown; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
