Harpers Ferry park to preview PBS series

HARPERS FERRY, W.Va. - The public is invited to see a 45-minute preview of "The National Parks: America's Best Idea." National Park Service and U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service cohost the preview at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25, at the National Conservation Training Center, 698 Conservation Way.

"The National Parks: America's Best Idea" is a six-episode series directed by Ken Burns and written and co-produced by Dayton Duncan. This 12-hour series will air on public television stations across the country beginning Sunday, Sept. 27. It features the stories of people - rich and poor, famous and the unknown - who helped save the natural, cultural, historic and wild places that became our national parks.
