Gilbert completes two-year mission for his church

Elder Wylie Edward Gilbert of Greencastle, Pa., and formerly of Hagerstown, completed a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He is a member of the Chambersburg Second Ward.

He served in the Argentina Rosario Mission in the cities of Noqoya, Rafaela, Santa Fee, Arrelifes and San Niccolos.

He graduated from the four-year church early morning seminary program while attending high school.

Wylie graduated from South Hagerstown High School in 2005.

He attended Brigham Young University-Idaho prior to his mission call and will be returning this fall to continue his studies. Prior to his mission, he worked as a server at the Texas Roadhouse restaurant in Hagerstown.

He is the son of Wilber and Elena Salazar. He has four brothers and two sisters.

His brother, Elder William Gilbert, served a two-year mission from 2005 to 2007 in Brasil, Salvador.
