Sagittarius Salon

Sagittarius Salon in Hagerstown earlier this month hosted its annual Back to School Cut-a-Thon and raised more than $1,000 for Alex's Lemonade Stand.

A $5 minimum donation was asked for each child's haircut, with 100 percent of the proceeds to benefit the foundation that helps fund research toward finding a cure for cancer in children.

Local business donated raffle prizes that were awarded to participants at the event.

Centra Bank Inc.

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - Centra Bank Inc., a network of independent community banking companies, has made Inc. magazine's annual ranking of the 5,000 fastest-growing companies in the United States for the second consecutive year.

The September issue of the magazine ranks Centra Bank at No. 93 among the top 100 financial services companies in the nation.


The Inc. 5,000 list measures revenue growth from 2005 to 2008. To qualify, companies must be U.S.-based and for profit, not publicly traded on an exchange and not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies.

Centra Hagerstown Inc. opened for business June 14, 2007, at Kenley Square. With local ownership, a local board, local management and local decision-making, the company has grown to more than $100 million in total assets.

Tower Bancorp Inc.

HARRISBURG, Pa. - The board of directors of Tower Bancorp Inc. has declared a quarterly cash dividend of 28 cents per share of common stock to shareholders of record on Aug. 14.

The divided will be paid Aug. 31.


FREDERICK, Md. - Morgan-Keller has begun construction of the Beltsville-Laurel Senior Center, a one-story, 23,000-square-foot senior center in Laurel, Md.

The contract was awarded to Morgan-Keller in July and the project will take about 15 months to complete.

Morgan-Keller, with offices in Frederick and Columbia, Md., has recently completed office buildings, retail centers, hotels, health care/biomedical facilities and several senior living facilities.

Orrstown Financial Services Inc.

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - The Board of Directors of Orrstown Financial Services Inc. has approved a third-quarter cash dividend of 22 cents per share for shareholders of record on Aug. 14.

The dividend will be paid Aug. 26.

H&R Block

H&R Block in June made a donation of $12,775 to the Maryland Public Television Foundation as part of the company's nonprofit referral program.
