Wilda J. Exline, age 81

Wilda Juanita Exline, age 81, of 21 Dorsey St., Grafton, W.Va., passed away Monday, Aug. 17, 2009, at the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center in Clarksburg.

She was born in Thornton, W.Va., Feb. 16, 1928, a daughter of the late Arthur Deqoy Exline and Willa Larue Canfield Exline.

Miss Exline was a retired U.S. Army nurse, having served in Vietnam. She served in the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1981.


She attended Knottsville United Methodist Church.

Surviving are one sister, Wanda J. Stutler of Cumberland, Md.; one brother, Thomas K. Exline of Sharpsburg, Md.; and several nieces and nephews. She is survived by a nephew, Charles Exline and his wife, Ruth, who was like a son to her and took her back and forth to the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center for a long time. Also surviving are a niece, Angelia Stotelmyer, who moved to Grafton with her family, husband Rodney, and sons Alex, Charles Weller, and Leo Jones, from Hagerstown, Md., to take care of Miss Exline the past two years.

Angelia Stotelmyer will be taking care of things that Miss Exline wanted done, and requests that family members bring photographs to her for a memorial tribute.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters and five brothers.

The family will receive friends Monday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. A memorial service will be conducted Monday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. A minister from The Well Church will officiate.
