ENFIELD, Conn. --Â Lorna B. (Auvil) Estey, 69, a longtime resident of Enfield, Conn., passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2009, at her home.
Born in West Virginia, Lorna was the daughter of the late Emmet and Anita (Loughridge) Auvil.
Lorna worked many years as a housekeeping supervisor for the hotel industry.
She was a woman of faith and she enjoyed attending services at the Cornerstone Bible Church in East Windsor. In her leisure time, she loved traveling and needlepoint, especially cross-stitch.
She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend and companion who will be missed dearly.
Lorna is survived by her four sons, Emmet R. Estey of Chicago, Ill., Kevin L. Estey and his wife, Maureen, of Manchester, Jeffrey Estey of Enfield and Alan Estey of East Hartford; her sister, Lana Murray and her husband, John, of Maryland; her two grandchildren, Kay and Brad Estey of Manchester, who meant the world to her; her aunts and uncles, Lorn Loughridge of West Virginia, Carl Loughridge of West Virginia, Loretta Bowers of Maryland and Lorraine Meyers of Maryland; her fiancé and companion for the last 15 years, John Gooding of Enfield; and her feline friend, Pumpkin.
