DisAbility Awareness Day in Berkeley Springs

BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - DisAbility Awareness Day will be Saturday, Sept. 12, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Berkeley Springs High School and is open to the public.

The event is designed for those with disabilities and their caregivers to network; allow service and support organizations to share their information; educate the public about disabilities and share stories about how many with disabilities cope and succeed.

Two speakers will discuss the theme "Being disabled doesn't change who you are: it only changes what you can do." There will be two panel discussions scheduled.

There will be several simulation activities set up including wheelchair, hearing/vision problems and more.
