Based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning play, the film is set in a Catholic school in New York in 1964. The principal, Sister Aloysius, feels certain that a priest is abusing one of her pupils. The priest denies the charges and it becomes her word against his.

Golf tournament
Children's Village of Washington County Inc. will host its 15th annual Keep Our Kids Safe four-man scramble golf tournament Friday, Sept. 11, at Black Rock Golf Course.
A putting contest begins at 11 a.m. and the shotgun start is at noon.
Dinner follows the tournament. A bag lunch will be provided.
The entry fee is $100 per person. Corporate sponsor packages are available, as well as sponsorships for holes and carts.
CSX Transportation is the tournament sponsor. Provident Agency is the lunch sponsor. The hole-in-one prize is a 2009 vehicle.
