Fire causes $5,000 in damage to Taco Bell

August 18, 2009|By DAVE McMILLION

A Tuesday afternoon fire in an exterior wall at Taco Bell at 1600 Wesel Blvd. caused about $5,000 in damages, a Hagerstown Fire Department official said.

Firefighters had to remove a section of the rear outside wall to put out the fire, Capt. Mark Cleck said.

It is unclear what caused the fire, which fire marshals are investigating, Cleck said.

The fire, which was reported at 5:09 p.m., caused light smoke to accumulate in the restaurant, Cleck said.

Taco Bell workers had evacuated everyone from the building by the time firefighters arrived.
