South High Alumni planning yard sale



The South Hagerstown High School's Alumni Association will hold a yard sale Saturday, Sept. 19, at the school from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Setup starts at 7 a.m. Spaces rent for $10.

Preschool program still taking registration



Registration remains open for fall classes at the Mother's Day Out preschool program at Emmanuel United Methodist Church, 802 Summit Ave., Hagerstown.

Classes meet Tuesdays from Sept. 8 to May 25. Children are divided by age groups from ages 6 months to 5 years.

The cost is $50 per month.

Hunter safety course



Hagerstown Grace Brethren Church, at First and Spruce streets in Hagerstown, will host a hunter safety course Aug. 31, Sept. 1, and Sept. 3 from 6 to 9:30 p.m.

Participants must attend all three classes. Those younger than 14 must be accompanied by an adult. The course is free, but registration is required by calling the church office at 301-739-1726 by Aug. 24.

Discovery Station



Titanic shipbuilding classes, led by Norman Little, master builder of the 15-foot Titanic replica on exhibit in the Transportation Gallery at Discovery Station, continues Saturday.

Teams of two, consisting of one adult and one student 8 years or older, will learn how to build a 17-inch replica of the Titanic.

It costs $50 per team for five sessions, which includes museum admission, ship model and all materials.

There is space for 10 teams. Registration is required. The sessions will be from 10 a.m. to noon.

Class of 1984 planning reunion



The South Hagerstown High School class of 1984 is planning a reunion weekend.

On Friday, Sept. 11, the class will meet at School Stadium to watch the Rebels football game. A tent will be set up for 1984 alumni. Arrival time is 6 p.m. and the game begins at 7 p.m.

On Saturday, Sept. 12, the class will meet for dinner at Cortland Mansion at 19411 Cortland Drive in Hagerstown.

There will be a wine and cheese social hour beginning at 5:30 p.m. with dinner to follow at 6:30 p.m.

Music from the '80s will be played throughout the evening.

The price for the evening will be $30 per person.

Reservations are needed by Aug. 31. Make checks payable to South High Class of 1984 and mail to 1943 Winston Drive, Hagerstown MD 21740.

SHHS class of 1979 looking for classmates

The SHHS class of '79 is planning its 30-year reunion for Oct. 2 and 3.
