Junkyard Saints to round out summer concert series

BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. -- The Junkyard Saints will perform Saturday at 5:30 p.m. at Berkeley Springs State Park, the final show in the Morgan Arts Council's 23rd summer concert series.

If it rains, the concert will be in the nearby Ice House.

Based in Baltimore, the seven-piece group blends a variety of New Orleans party music. It meshes funk, swing, Latin, and rhythm and blues with a splash of zydeco. The Junkyard Saints' original songs have been played on national radio and the band has received Wammie awards for best roots-rock group.

The band as a full horn section of sax, trumpet and trombone, as well as accordion and drums.

The MAC Summer Concerts in the Park are funded in part by the National Endowment for the Arts, West Virginia Commission on the Arts and local hotel/motel tax revenues.
