HAGERSTOWN - William Ernest Husk, 86, of Hagerstown, Md., died Saturday, Aug. 15, 2009, at Julia Manor Nursing Home in Hagerstown.

Born May 27, 1923, in Harrison County, W.Va., to the late William Festus and Daisy Blanche Rollins Husk.

He attended Victory High School in Clarksburg, W.Va.

He retired from Fairchild Aircraft in Hagerstown in 1983.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in WWII.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Merreta Hyde Husk, in 1997.

He was of the Protestant faith and a member of AARP.

Survivors include daughter, E. Louise Driggers and her husband, Bruce, of Hagerstown; grandson, Jeffrey M. Rohrer of Martinsburg, W.Va.; granddaughter, Shelby R. Driggers of Hagerstown; grandson, Ryan A. Driggers of Hagerstown; stepgranddaughter, Tamela I. Ford of West Virginia; stepgranddaughter, Pamela J. Ford of West Virginia; stepgrandson, Larry O. Ford of West Virginia; great-grandson, Tyler A. Driggers of Hagerstown; great-grandson, Dylan A. Driggers of Hagerstown; two nephews; and many cousins.

Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by stepson, Lawrence A. Ford; and brother, Chester L. Husk.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2009, at 2 p.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport, Md., with Michael Seger, Hospice chaplain, officiating.

Burial will be at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park in Hagerstown, where Morris Frock Post 42 American Legion, Hagerstown, will provide military honors.

The family will receive friends Wednesday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
