Hospice benefits from fundraiser

August 15, 2009

To honor the service of Carol Lynn as the 2008-09 president of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Maryland State Auxiliary, Eagle members from across the state made donations to her chosen charity, Hospice of Washington County Inc.

Lynn ended her term June 28. Early in her tenure, she chose Hospice as her designated charity in honor of a close friend who had been served by Hospice at the end of her life. Lynn promoted the services of Hospice throughout her year as president. At the Maryland State Aerie and Auxiliary Convention June 27 at FOE 1136 in Brunswick, Md., she was honored with a parade of checks from her fellow Eagle members who generously contributed $5,670.50 to Hospice in her name.

Lynn is serving as secretary of the Hagerstown Fraternal Order of Eagles 694 Ladies Auxiliary. She has been an Eagles member for 21 years and endorses the FOE motto, "People Helping People."
