Participants in the Boys & Girls Club of Washington County enjoyed an evening at the Washington Nationals vs. Chicago Cubs Major League Baseball game thanks to the kindness of a local family.
On July 18, the club chartered a bus and took 45 club members, parents and volunteers to the game at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C., courtesy of John and Natalie Hershey III.
"It was a super evening," John Hershey said. "I think we all had a great time and got to see a very close game. We wanted to sponsor an activity where we could be actively engaged with the boys and girls and it was perfect."
Hershey, along with his father, Jack, and son, Holden, attended the ballgame. "We had three generations of Hersheys involved in this trip and that added to our enjoyment," John Hershey said.
