St. John's Episcopal Church, the Rev. Stephanie Yancy will lead Sunday's 8 and 10:15 a.m. communion services. Music by Robin Spickler at the later service. Sunday school resumes in the fall.

St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Pastor Quentin Fleming will preside at the 8:15 a.m. chapel service and 10:30 a.m. communion service Sunday, speaking on It's a Gift to be Simple. Sunday school is at 9:15 a.m.

Trinity Lutheran Church, Hagerstown, Pastor Eric Norgard is preacher and presider Sunday at the 8:30 a.m. worship in the sanctuary and praise worship at 9:45 a.m. in fellowship hall with special music by Kerensa Gray. Students of all ages are to bring their school backpacks for a special blessing at both services. Sunday school resumes in the fall.

St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Smithsburg, the Rev. Mark Mooney's topic at the 9:30 a.m. Sunday service is Opportunity's Knocking. The children and youth will provide special music. Sunday school at 10:45 a.m.

Christ Reformed UCC in Cavetown, Pastor Carol Hallman will be speaking Sunday at 10:30 a.m. on The Path to Wisdom. Sunday school is at 9:15 a.m.

Beaver Creek Church of the Brethren, 20402 Beaver Creek Road, summer reflections from those atending church camp, creation, disaster response project, at the 10 a.m. service Sunday. Warren Frusher and Anthony Minnick are worship leaders. Sunday school for all ages begins at 9 a.m. A carry-in meal follows the service.

Calvary United Methodist Church, Martinsburg, W.Va., the Rev. Al Clipp's message at 8:30 and 10:45 a.m. services Sunday is Filled With the Sanctifier. Sunday school at 9:30 a.m. On Saturday, Aug. 22, there will be a laity and youth-led worship at 6:30 p.m.
