Charles "Lee" Stickell, 68, of Hagerstown, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 6, 2009, at his home surrounded by his loving wife and hospice volunteer staff.

Born July 1, 1941, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Charles Y. and Mary (Shannonbrooke) Stickell.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He retired as a guard at MCTC in Hagerstown and also had retired from the VA Hospital in Martinsburg, W.Va.

Charles was a member of the NRA, St. Jude's Children's Hospital, SPCA, Morris Frock American Legion Post No. 42 and the North American Rod and Gun Club.

He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Donna C. (Grubbs) Grimm Stickell; a stepson, Richard Gordon Grimm II of Kearny, Neb.; and three grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Charles was also preceded in death by his brother, Ralph Stickell.

Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.

At the family's request, there will be no visitation.

Memorial contributions may be made in Charles' name to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742.
