SALISBURY, Md. -- After Hagerstown scored three runs in the top of the 10th inning, Delmarva answered with four in the bottom half as the Shorebirds beat the Suns 5-4 on Thursday night.
Delmarva rallied in the 10th against Chris Rivera (0-3), the Suns' third pitcher of the night.
After a walk and two singles loaded the bases with no outs, a fielding error by Suns shortstop Nick Arata allowed two runs to score to make it a 4-3 game.
Xavier Avery followed with an RBI double to tie the game. After Greg Miclat grounded to first for the first out of the inning, Ronnie Welty hit an RBI single to end the game.
The Suns tied the game at 1 in the ninth, as Steven Souza singled, went to third on Charlie Fermaint's single and scored on Robert Jacobsen's sacrifice fly.
