Coyle Free Library hosting free computer classes

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. -- On Aug. 19, Coyle Free Library will host three free computer classes.

10:00 to 11:30 am: Internet Safety for Children and Parents

This class features safe Web surfing techniques in a fun, family-friendly interactive environment. Basic Web safety rules are covered, and recommendations for kid-friendly sites are included. Children who will be using computers are welcome to attend if accompanied by a parent.

12:00 to 1:30 pm: Job Searching Online

This class will explore the more popular job searching sites on the Internet, including jobseek, Monster, and How to search the Public Opinion and The Herald-Mail online job databases will also be covered.

2:00 to 3:30 pm: Intro to eBay and Amazon

This class shows users how to set up an account on eBay and Also covered is how to buy and sell on eBay and how to buy on Amazon. No actual purchases are allowed during class.


Stop by or call Coyle Free Library at 717-263-1054 to sign up for a spot. Classes are free, but spaces are limited.

Bicycle ride to benefit library

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. -- On Saturday, Sept. 12, CoyleFriends is sponsoring the "Raisin' Dough" bicycle ride to benefit Coyle Free Library.

Rides start at 8:30 a.m., rain or shine, and all routes begin and end at Norlo Park. There are four different routes of varying lengths, including one for kids, and 10-, 30- and 50-mile rides.

Raisin' Dough T-shirts can be ordered through Aug. 22.

Anyone can participate, and registration forms are available at the library. Refueling stations and bathrooms will be available to participants along the way.
