Women Build program plans 4th Habitat house

August 06, 2009

Washington County Women Build, a volunteer program associated with Habitat for Humanity, is counting down to Saturday, Aug. 15, when materials start arriving for Women Build House No. 4.

Established locally in 2005, Women Build is starting its fourth house at 1018 Lanvale St. in Hagerstown.

Women Build works side by side with other volunteers and partner families learning to build houses to address the housing crisis facing women and children.

Any woman interested in participating in helping build the house can contact Pam Meredith, Washington County Women Build chair, at womenbuild@att.net, or go to the work site on Aug 15.

The group will meet Monday, Aug. 10, at 6 p.m. at Oliver's Pub at Long Meadow Shopping Center in Hagerstown.
