Bag of cash stolen from Sheetz lot in Pa.



CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. -- Pennsylvania State Police are seeking information about a bank bag full of cash that was taken Thursday morning from the parking lot of the Sheetz gas station on U.S. 30 near Chambersburg, the department said in a news release.

Police said a man accidentally left a blue PNC bank bag with money in it on the hood of his car and drove off, causing the bag to fall to the ground of the parking lot at 1315 Lincoln Way East.

Someone took the bag between 10:30 a.m. and 11 a.m., police said.

Hagerstown cab driver hurt in Pa. crash



WAYNESBORO, Pa. -- A cab from Downtown Taxi of Hagerstown was involved in a crash Thursday Morning on Anthony Highway, north of Waynesboro, Pa., Pennsylvania State Police said in a news release.

Philip Hundley, 68, of Hagerstown, Md., was driving north on Anthony Highway (Pa. 997) in the cab at about 7:47 a.m.. when he lost control of the vehicle and struck a utility pole, police said.

Hundley was not wearing his seatbelt and had moderate injuries, police said. He was taken to Waynesboro Hospital by Waynesboro EMS, but was not listed as a patient there Friday.

The owner of Downtown Taxi would not comment on the crash or whether Hundley was working for the company.

Man 74, hurt in Pa. minivan crash



SCOTLAND, Pa. -- A 74-year-old man was injured Wednesday afternoon when he ran a stop sign in a minivan and crashed into a car at the intersection of Mount Pleasant Road and Hafer Road east of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania State Police said in a news release.

Jesse E. Shew of Mifflin, Pa., was driving east on Hafer Road in a 1992 Dodge Caravan minivan at about 1:04 p.m., when he ran a stop sign and crashed into a 2005 Chevrolet Cavalier that was driving south on Mount Pleasant Road, police said.

Shew had a major injury and was taken to Chambersburg Hospital or York Hospital by the Fayetteville ambulance, police said.

The driver of the Chevrolet, Brittany R. Myers, 18, of Chambersburg, and one of her passengers, a female from Chambersburg, also had moderate injuries and were taken to Chambersburg Hospital or York Hospital, police said.

The injured people's conditions were not available Friday.

Pa. boy, 12, injured in ATV crash



FANNETTSBURG, Pa. -- A 12-year-old boy was flown to Hershey Medical Center on Thursday evening after his ATV rolled over several times on Pa. 75 in Fannett Township, Pennsylvania State Police said in a news release.

The boy, from East Waterford, Pa., was driving the ATV on Pa. 75 north of Concord, Pa. when he lost control at about 7:30 p.m., police said. Police described his injuries as moderate.

Police did not release the boy's name and his condition was not available Friday.

The Fannett-Metal fire and EMS company and West Shore Emergency Medical Services assisted on the scene, police said.

Incidents reported in Washington County



The Washington County Sheriff's Department responded to the following incidents Thursday, Lt. Mark Knight said in a news release:

o At 1:26 a.m., a domestic situation was reported in the 11300 block of Youngstoun Drive.

o At 4:43 a.m., malicious destruction of property was reported at St. Pauls Methodist Church in the 11400 block of Tedrick Drive near Indian Springs. A refrigerator was damaged.

o At 8:22 a.m., theft from a vehicle was reported at Holiday Inn Express in the 200 block of Railway Lane. Tools were stolen from a work truck.

o At 10 a.m., malicious destruction of property was reported at Eastern Elementary School in the 1300 block of Yale Drive. A window screen was cut overnight.

o At 10:39 a.m., theft was reported at Regal Theaters in the 17300 block of Valley Mall Road. A wallet was stolen.

o At 11 a.m., theft was reported at Ted's Rent It in the 17800 block of Virginia Avenue. Equipment rented under a false name was never brought back.

o At 11:23 a.m., theft from a vehicle was reported in the 17800 block of Sherman Avenue. A vehicle was damaged and items were stolen from the vehicle.

o At 3 p.m., a domestic situation was reported in the 8200 block of Mapleville Road near Boonsboro.

o At 3:29 p.m., malicious destruction of property was reported in the 17500 block of Stone Valley Drive. A window was broken out of a vehicle with a ball bearing.

o At 4:40 p.m., malicious destruction of property was reported in the 9600 block of Crystal Falls Drive. A rock was thrown through the window of a residence.

o At 4:58 p.m., theft from a vehicle was reported in the 10800 block of Oak Forest Drive. A GPS was stolen from a vehicle.

o At 6:02 p.m., theft from a vehicle was reported in the Auto Place Park and Ride. A GPS was stolen from a vehicle.
