MAUGANSVILLE - Leonard J. Repko, 82, of Greenfield Avenue, Maugansville, Md., died Monday, Aug. 3, 2009, at Roselawn Terrace Nursing Home in Alliance, Ohio.

Born Oct. 10, 1926, in Jamestown, Pa., he was the son of the late John and Susan Pearhac Repko.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Repko, on May 30, 2009.

He previously attended St. Francis College in Loretta, Pa.

He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Air Force.

He retired from Mack Trucks.

He was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church.

He was a member of Morris Frock American Legion Post 42 and VFW Post 1936.

He is survived by one son, Michael Repko of Maugansville; one sister, JoAnn McGrew of Alliance; and three grandchildren, Eric S. Johnson, Heather M. Whitfield and Sarah A. Johnson.


He was preceded in death by one brother, Bill Repko.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Ann Catholic Church on Friday at 11:30 a.m. The Rev. C. Doug Kenney will be celebrant. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted at the cemetery by Morris Frock American Legion Post 42.

There will be no viewing.

Family requests omission of flowers. Memorial donations may be made to Roselawn Terrace Nursing Home, 11999 Klinger Northeast, Alliance, OH 44601; or St. Ann Catholic Church, 1525 Oak Hill Avenue, Hagerstown, MD 21740.

The family would also like to convey a special thank you to Roselawn Terrace for caring for Mr. Repko.
