Driver safety course to be held at Somerford

The Washington County Commission on Aging will hold the AARP driver safety program Thursday, Sept. 24, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Somerford Assisted Living, 10114 Sharpsburg Pike.

The instructor is Terry Marshall.

The class is designed to help drivers improve their skills and prevent traffic accidents.

The course costs $12 per person for AARP members and $14 for nonmembers.

Church plans annual yard, bake sale Aug. 14 and 15

Christ Lutheran Church will hold its annual yard and bake sale Friday, Aug. 14, starting at 8 a.m., and Saturday, Aug. 15, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Along with the yard and bake sale, the Chewsville Lions Club will be selling country ham sandwiches.

Proceeds from the event will be used for benevolent work in the community.


The church is at 216 N. Cleveland Ave. in Hagerstown.
