WCPS to pay $124,400 to relocate portable classrooms
Washington County Public Schools will pay a contractor $124,400 to relocate three portable classroom buildings.
Deputy Superintendent Boyd Michael said Tuesday that the portable classrooms will be taken from Funkstown Elementary School, with one each going to Clear Spring Elementary School, North Hagerstown High School and Williamsport High School.
The portable classrooms that will be relocated to North Hagerstown and Williamsport high schools will be used to serve special-needs children, Michael said. The classroom that will be taken to Clear Spring Elementary School will be used to meet additional enrollment needs.
Michael said the classrooms should be in place by Oct. 2.
Milton Stamper Builders of Hagerstown, which submitted the lowest bid, is handling the relocations.
