New Beginnings youth group takes bus trip to mission camp

August 03, 2009

New Beginnings Community Church's youth group sent 14 of its members to Charleston, S.C., to attend a mission camp called M-Fuge. They traveled the 11-hour trip in their newly purchased bus.

During the week, members of the team worked in children's ministry teaching those ages 2 to 12 in Bible clubs. Some worked in poverty-stricken areas in parks, playing with children and showing them love. Others worked in nursing homes and food banks.

Two of the team members, Keith Snyder and Anthoney Dankulich, worked in a new area this year called the beach ministry. On the beach, they handed out bottled water, ice treats and watermelon to beachgoers.

The trip was funded by the youth, who held fundraisers during the year. This year's theme at M-Fuge was "Move."

New Beginnings is near the intersection of Dual Highway and Beaver Creek Road in Hagerstown.
