HAGERSTOWN - Phyllis Arlene Alexander, 80, of Hagerstown, passed away Friday, July 31, 2009, at Ravenwood Lutheran Nursing Home.

Born March 4, 1929, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Harvey Denton and Frances J.L. (Moats) Kline.

Mrs. Alexander was a homemaker.

She was a 1947 graduate of Hagerstown High School and a member of John Wesley United Methodist Church, Hagerstown.

She is survived by one daughter, Arlene Jamison of Hustontown, Pa.; one son, Thomas Alexander and wife, Michelle, of Hagerstown; one brother, Carrol E. Kline of Martinsburg, W.Va.; six grandchildren, Amy Jamison-Stewart of Orlando, Fla., Tony Jamison of Virginia, Jackie Jamison of Oahu, Hawaii, and Tim Alexander, Sydney Alexander and Aaron Alexander, all of Hagerstown; six great-grandchildren, Mariah, Daniel, Gavin and Charli of Orlando, and Cameron and Anthony Jamison of Oahu.

In addition to her parents, she also was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Stanley H. Alexander; and two brothers, Richard E. Kline and Robert D. Kline.


Graveside services will be conducted Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown, with the Rev. Richard H. Jewell officiating.

Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, Hagerstown, is in charge of the arrangements.
