Golf event raises money to help others hear

July 31, 2009

Michael Kade Fotta spends time with his mother, Kerri Fotta, and father, Michael J. Fotta, Friday at Black Rock Golf Course. The Fottas hosted the first Michael Kade Fotta Golf Tournament. Money raised from the event will benefit The Listening Center at Johns Hopkins, which helps children with cochlear implants. Michael, 7, has had a cochlear implant for nearly six years. When he was 17 months old, his parents were told he had genetic progressive hearing loss. At the age of 23 months, Michael received his first implant, and he received his second in June.
